2012 Lexus LFA Will Make You Pinch Yourself
No, this isn’t a dream, but this gorgeous supercar will have you fantasizing about yesteryear.
Every decade or so, an automaker that usually focuses on regular, everyday cars shocks the world by coming out with a driver-oriented, exotic supercar that takes the fight to Ferrari, Lamborghini, and other prestigious supercar manufacturers. The shockingly gorgeous 2012 Lexus LFA that you see here is an example of such a vehicle and will have any enthusiast begging on their knees for any opportunity to just touch one.
We found this incredible example up for auction through Hemmings, with the seller, Fusion Luxury Motors, asking almost $330,000. A lot of money? Sure, but this amazing supercar is worth selling your kidneys for. The beautiful flat metallic vinyl wrap helps bring out the car’s real Caviar Black metallic paint job with the classy choice of Saddle Tan on the inside. The yellow accent on the badge at the back, yellow brake calipers, and gunmetal wheels really help this LFA look like Batman’s car. With its looks, there’s no question that this beast is worth of being a superhero’s car.
Lexus took its time with the LFA, approximately 10, years but the car was worth the wait. At the heart of the machine lies a 4.8-liter V10 engine. The howling motor produces a neck-snapping 552 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. of torque, while creating a symphony that mimics Formula One racecars of the past. With the current set of emissions regulations and fuel-economy requirements, it’s highly unlikely that an engine like the one found in the LFA will be used to power a car again.
The inside of the supercar is just as purpose-built as the exterior. The thin racing seats put drivers down into the bottom of the vehicle, while the large, circular LCD tachometer provides only the necessary information. Extremely rare doesn’t adequately describe the LFA, as this model is just one of 500 ever made, wearing the badge of #456.
