While enthusiasts mourn the GS F’s departure from the Lexus lineup, you can still pick up low-mile examples on the used market!
If you’re a member of ClubLexus, you probably know the Lexus GS intimately. A mid-sized sedan with a tinge of luxury and, quite often, an available V8 trim level to up the fun factor. All of this culminated during the 2016-2020 model years when Lexus offered a GS F. Following in the footsteps of the IS F and RC F, Lexus stuck its venerable 2UR-GSE 5.0L V8 under the hood… creating the best GS, well, ever. Sport seating. Track-ready brakes. And more aggressive styling that came with the new larger grille.
Yes, the engine lives on in the IS 500 and LC 500, but alas, poor sales led to Lexus killing our beloved GS, including the F model. And neither of the remaining 5.0 offerings are as roomy as the GS. But the great news, for anyone looking to buy a GS F, is that there are still plenty of like-new examples on the used market. The GS F currently sits on Swift Spec R Springs and ceramic coated Vossen HF-3 Anthracite wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. But the seller plans to part those out separately unless the new buyer pays for them. Otherwise, the buyer would get the OEM wheels, tires, and springs.
