2016 Lexus GS F Smoothly Combines V8-Powered Vigor With Luxe Sedan: (Fridays are for F Presented by Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus)
In 2016, Lexus gave the GS a F Performance badge; and transformed the midsized sedan by going full beast mode.
It wasn’t a surprise last year when Lexus announced that it was discontinuing the GS. Production of the midsized car would cease with the then-current 2020 model. Launched in 1993, the Lexus GS had been a mainstay in the line-up over the course of four generations. Perhaps the biggest change was in 2016 when the GS became the fourth model to get the official F badge. And the 2016 Lexus GS F was a knockout. It had the performance, the drivability, and a V8 that was all business.
This particular 2016 Lexus GS F is currently for sale on Club Lexus as well as OfferUp. Clean, stock, and super slick; it proves its worth as a memorable and rowdy F. It also is the focus of this week’s Friday is for F.
Lexus kicked off their F performance line with the IS F in 2008. Then they collectively blew our minds with the 2012 Lexus LFA. Third was the Lexus RC F in 2015, and then the GS F was badged in 2016.
To give the 5-seater a real source of energy, they started with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. Potent and great-sounding, the GS F got a glow up to 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque. Paired to an eight-speed paddle-shifted automatic; it had an agile performance.
F performance rides also have to deliver a track-ready performance. Lexus adjusted the suspension, wheel/tire, steering, and transmission tuning upgrades to make the 2016 Lexus GS F a capable fiend on the track. But also serve as a comfortable and fully-loaded daily driver.
Inside and out, it feels muscular, aggressive and very sporty.
And it has all the goodies. With the Nebula Gray exterior, the Circuit Red interior really feels special. It also has a Mark Levinson system, Heads up display, Orange OEM calipers, Triple Beam LED headlights, and more.
In addition to quite a striking profile, the engine is a diamond. Tough V8 might with a heavenly gut rumbling soundtrack.
Seller 18017 has more deets. There is 69k on the odometer, and additionally $60k of major service had been completed at dealership.
All available options were added on when new. CPO (Certified pre-owned) Lexus Unlimited bumper-to-bumper unlimited mileage until 3/2024. Also included is the next two maintenance service intervals at 75k and 80k or until 3/2022.

If the large price tag was an issue in 2016, it now is priced much more reasonably.
We still miss the Lexus GS F. Even an initial cynic (cough) can be turned around in one ride. The 2016 Lexus GS F handles very well, it is responsive, frisky–but confident. Bottom line is the F performance is pulsing through the GS F, and it is certain to make your heart race. Still very high-end in the cabin; user-friendly, useful tech, and a versatile ride that adapts from corner carving to commuting.
2016 was a good year for the Lexus GS F. The best JDM performance pairs with Lexus’ signature quality and precision. New, energized, and fast–it satisfies as Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde.
