2025 Toyota GR Supra Ditches Four-Cylinder Option, Gets More Expensive
The 2025 Toyota GR Supra has gone I-6 only and gotten pricier as a result, though customers can still get a manual transmission, at least.
The Toyota Supra has been around for a few years now after debuting in 2020, and since then, the reborn sports car has been treated to a few updates along the way. After originally only being available with a turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6, the Supra gained a turbo 2.0-liter I-4 for the 2021 model year, making it a bit cheaper for those that were perfectly fine with having a little less weight and horsepower in their rides. However, the 2025 Toyota GR Supra is ditching that four-banger just a few years after its addition to the lineup.
This means that the 2025 Toyota GR Supra is available in two trims – 3.0 and 3.0 Premium – and pricing has increased, to boot. The four-cylinder model previously started out at $47,535, which is significantly less than the base 2025 3.0 model, which has an MSRP of $57,345 – further boosted by an $850 general price increase for the new year – while the 3.0 Premium costs $60,495. The good news for enthusiasts is, Supra customers can still opt for the six-speed manual transmission as a no-cost option instead of the eight-speed automatic.
No matter which 2025 Toyota GR Supra shoppers opt for, they get the same, aforementioned turbo 3.0-liter inline-six powerplant churning out 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. Underneath, both the 3.0 and 3.0 Premium come equipped with a double joint-type MacPherson front and multi-link independent rear suspension, sport-calibrated electronic power steering, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and dual exhaust tips out back. Performance-wise, manual models can do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, while the automatic cuts that down to 3.9 ticks.
Inside the cabin, the 2025 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 gets black Alcantara and leather sports seats, while the 3.0 Premium adds either black leather or hazelnut leather seating. Customers get a 12-speaker JBL audio system as standard on the Premium trim, which can also be added as an option in the base model when coupled with the Safety & Technology Plus JBL Package. GR 3.0 models equipped with the Safety & Technology package also come with Toyota Supra Connect.
The 2025 Toyota GR Supra has a handful of exterior color options to choose from – Stratosphere, Absolute Zero, Nocturnal, and Renaissance Red 2.0 – and is currently slated to land on dealer lots in the U.S. this fall.
