5 Things We “HATE” (and LOVE) About the 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible (ClubLexus Review!!!)

“HATE”

4.  Hefty Weight

There’s no getting around it. Despite looking like a nimble sports car, the LC 500 Convertible is a 4,500+ pound BOAT. Lexus engineers certainly worked their magic to hide said heft — and it’s quite tight for a drop-top — but this one feels slower than cars with similar power. For example, my 2013 Boss 302 is down on horsepower and torque compared to the LC, but it also weighs nearly 700 pounds LESS.

The extra weight also comes into play in hard cornering. Add in the worn, press-car tires and this car felt very much like its handling abilities aren’t able to cash the checks the drivetrain wants to write.

4. Excellent Interior Quality & Seating

The 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible is luxurious and extremely comfortable. Lexus wraps every single touch-space in smooth leather or machined metals. The stitching on the door panels and seating areas is stylish and looks high-end. And, of course, the captain’s chairs offer supple bolstering for sporty driving without the harsh restrictions of a pure racing seat. Plus, they’re heated and cooled. The steering wheel, handles, and various buttons also fit the Lexus standard quite well.

If you make an LC 500 your daily driver, you’re going to enjoy it.
