For every hit like the LFA and RC F, Lexus racked up a few misses over 30 years. Behold the five greatest misses of all from Nagoya.
For over three decades, the pursuit of perfection took Lexus to heights only dreamed by others. The LFA. The RC F. The LC 500 Convertible. Just three of the many examples Nagoya delivered to the world in such a short time.
However, for every hit like the LFA, there’s a miss in the Lexus lineup. Among the misses, these five represent the brand’s greatest misses of all time. How so? Read on.
No. 5: IS C
The IS C. It’s not the worst car on the list, but of the IS lineup, this one’s a miss based styling alone. Specifically, the retractable hardtop. Styling such a feature can be tricky, especially when compared to fixed-roof models. Alas, Lexus struck out with an awkward C-pillar and rear deck; we’re just glad it didn’t go into Nissan Z convertible levels of wrong.
Cameron Aubernon's path to automotive journalism began in the early New '10s. Back then, a friend of hers thought she was an independent fashion blogger.
Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.
From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.
Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.
Where do you go for answers when you have a Lexus with a gorgeous leather interior but are not sure about how to maintain that luxurious look? The "Club Lexus" forums, of course.
