All-New 2024 Lexus GX 550 Pricing Unveiled, Starts at $64,250

Lexus announces pricing for all 2024 GX 550 models and confirms that a rumored powertrain option is forthcoming at a later date.

We have been excited about the all-new 2024 Lexus GX 550 ever since it was first revealed. Shortly after that the first off-road tests began to trickle in, and our anticipation grew. And today Lexus announced how much it will cost to put our dream GX 550 in our driveway. We will break down the pricing for all GX 550 models below. But the starting point for a GX 550 Premium SUV will be $64,250 which includes delivery, processing, and handling fees.

But the pricing announcement wasn’t the only big news. Lexus also shared that a hybrid powertrain option will be available for the GX at a later date (GX 600h? GX 650h?). No specifications on the hybrid powertrain were provided. However, if we were to guess it would be similar to the i-FORCE MAX Twin-Turbo V6 hybrid powertrain that can be found in the 2024 Toyota Sequoia. In that application, the engine makes 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. We will share the details as soon as they become available.

2024 Lexus GX 550 Pricing

Lexus provided the pricing details below. The MSRP includes the delivery, processing, and handling fees of $1,350. It is interesting to note that the Premium+ and Overtrail have the same price. As do the Luxury and Overtrail+ models. So, it is up to the buyer to decide what they value more, luxury features or off-road features as price won’t play into it.

GX 550 Value

A 2023 Lexus GX 460 starts at $60,225. So, the new model comes with a price hike of roughly $4,000 or about a 7 percent increase. A 2023 GX 460 Luxury starts at $70,880 and the new GX 550 Luxury will cost nearly $7,000 more. There is no question that prices have gone up. However, the new SUV offers a far more advanced powertrain, greater towing capacity, more advanced technology, and a crisp new look. The question of whether all the new features justify the higher price ultimately rests with you. To us, we would not call the GX 550 a screaming bargain but given all the advancements it does seem to be worth the money that Lexus is asking for it.

Availability

The new SUV is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships in early 2024. All 2024 GX models will be assembled at the Tahara plant in Japan. The build configurator is not yet online.
