About a year ago we put out a Lexus buyers guide for used Lexus models covering almost every budget. We started at under $10K and increased our budget by $10K increments until we hit $70K. But a lot can change in the course of a year. Certainly, the car market has changed. With that in mind, we decided to update the buying guide using 2024 pricing data. And while we still recommend a couple of the same vehicles, we changed most of our recommendations based on current market values.
As a reminder our Lexus Buyers Guide focuses on the most desirable and most available for a given budget. We did not include unicorns. For example, if there was one LS 500 for sale in the country for less than $10K we did not include it. It is too much of an outlier. We looked for vehicles that were generally available at the given price point. We also focused on clean title cars. Some may have high miles, but we don’t include cars with an accident history or salvage titles. Everything you see listed can be bought with peace of mind. There are a lot of quality Lexus vehicles to choose from so let’s get started looking at the 2024 Lexus Buyers Guide.
Lexus for Under $10K
Used car prices have eased a bit since a year ago but $10,000 is still not a large car buying budget in 2024. Especially for a luxury brand. However, there a quite a few options out there for you. They will have high miles and be a bit older. But that is to be expected at this price point. But it is a Lexus, so high miles should not scare you. Just try to find an example that was well-maintained.
2004 – 2009 Lexus RX
We recommended this vehicle in this spot last year, and we are sticking to that pick this year. It is the best-selling Lexus model in the lineup. As such, there are plenty of examples out there. The examples you will find in this budget will have 150K to 200K miles on the clock. But the 3.3L V6 makes 230 smooth horsepower and combined with the available all-wheel drive system it would make the perfect daily driver for anyone on a tight budget.
2006 Lexus LS 430
Most of our picks include a model year range, but for this pick, we are singling out the 2006 model year specifically. The 2006 Lexus LS 430 is one of the most reliable machines ever built. At this price point, the car is going to have high miles. But that should be of little concern with this vehicle. It will last a long time, and it was at one time the flagship luxury sedan in the Lexus lineup. Sure, some of the technology is outdated now, but this is a lot of car for less than $10K.
