Beverly Hills, 9021-Woah!: Lexus ES F Sport Steals the Spotlight on Rodeo
Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance celebrates 25 years with amazing display of cars. Guess which ride was the biggest hit…
For 25 years, the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance has wowed countless fathers (and their families) with a vast array of amazing machinery. The Father’s Day weekend tradition has historically attracted some of the world’s rarest and most exclusive automobiles, which makes this a can’t-miss car show along the world’s most famous retail road. But despite the presence of Bugattis, Lambos, and even some contraption with a gold motor, it was something totally unexpected that recently stole the show at this year’s event: a Lexus ES F Sport sedan.
Yes, nestled among 100 of the rarest and most exotic cars ever built, the brand new Lexus ES F Sport truly stood out. With its flashy, dramatic skin, the swoopy sedan looked right at home among the finest luxury shops and restaurants Southern California has to offer. And being as this is the 25th anniversary of the Rodeo Concours, it was also adorned in silver paint.
It wasn’t so surprising then that crowds flocked to the Lexus ES F Sport. Partially out of curiosity, but mostly because it just looks so darn cool. This, despite the fact that it was a pretty overcast day in “sunny” 90210. The dreary skies, nor the threat of rain, could deter hundreds from making their way to the most famous street in Beverly Hills.
There it was the brand new, completely restyled ES that showed up everyone. Even a random dude dressed to match his car. And why not? This is a car that sports brand new, sexy lines. Something that meshes perfectly with the remainder of the Lexus family. There’s also a 3.5-liter V6 producing 302 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque under the hood. Which makes it every bit as exciting to drive as it is to look at. We loved the base car when we first laid eyes on it, but the Lexus ES F Sport takes that relationship to a whole new level.
