Lexus growth continues with strong numbers for the month of April. Several new 2013 vehicles helped boost sales from the previous years as well as increased Certified Pre-Owned sales figures. Lexus Hybrids dominate the charts in the industry for luxury hybrids sales. 2 of every 3 luxury hybrids are Lexus.
Lexus and a whole host of other luxury manufacturer’s have been given “poor” marks in the IIHS new “small overlap” crash test. The test is designed to simulate a car crashing into a tree or pole from a glancing angle at 40 mph.
Since the ES is Lexus best selling luxury sedan, there have always been rumors of Lexus building the ES stateside. Police are looking for a student in North Carolina who crashed their 2006 ES into a cemetery knocking over at least a dozen headstones in the process. As if causing a ruckus among the dead wasn’t bad enough, the driver abandoned their car and left the scene on foot. Classy.
The new ES has easily been Lexus’ worst kept secret for the past few months thanks, in part, to a massive photo leak. But now, the sedan has finally made it’s way into the limelight of the NY Auto show. Does it live up to expectations?
This new shot of the ES doesn’t really surprise us since the cat was already let out of the bag in China. The car will make it’s official, debut at the New York International Auto Show where journalists will all pretend to be surprised by the new look.
