Club Lexus Forums Helps Member Score Killer Deal on New LC 500

A simple, unrelated post in the Club Lexus forums inspired one member to make a call that saved him tens of thousands.

As you might already be aware, there are lots of great reasons to join the Club Lexus Forums. Here you can show off your builds and check out what others are building. You can buy or sell entire cars or parts. And you’ll meet thousands of like-minded enthusiasts and Lexus experts willing to help you with, well, anything you need help with. And as we learned in this thread from member RCFGrandpa, that even includes scoring a great deal on a new car.

“Funny how things happen. A Club Lexus member posted a photo of his RC F car cover he obtained from a Lexus dealership. I contacted my Lexus dealer and asked the sales manager if they had the special RC F car cover that Lexus sent them. I also told them that I was still interested in an Infrared LC 500. He replied that they no longer have the cover but gave me a price on the car I couldn’t refuse. $5,000 discount plus Lexus cash of $20,000.00! MSRP is $104,000, so that’s almost 25% off for a brand new LC 500! That is almost what I paid for my RC F when it was new.”

As other members point out, that seems like the deal of a century for a pretty awesome car.

“A new 2019 LC 500 for around 80K?” said ttantioch. “A used 2018 LC 500 with 5k miles still sells for 77k…”

“You got an amazing price!” added Kira X. “I have seen used ones in that price range.”

The OP does point out that his car is actually a 2018 model. But that’s still a screaming deal for a new LC, regardless.

“That is why I bought it. Lexus would not discount them originally. It’s not a 2019, but a 2018 with a build date of 9/18. So it does not have lot rot. Lexus is giving $20,000 cash for the purchase of a 2018. With a $5k discount added to the $20k, I’ve taken the depreciation hit. If anyone is interested, Lexus cash is good until 6/3/19. It’s not a 2019 or the 2020, but it’s still brand new with 8 miles. With Apple Car Play added for $199, it’s almost the same as a 2019, too.”

On top of that, Lexus didn’t even charge him to ship the car from Southern California to Seattle. So far, the OP is loving his new ride and giving his overall impressions in this thread as well. So head on over here to see how his forum-inspired discount purchase pans out!
