Club Lexus Forums

Once you’ve joined the Club Lexus forums, you probably want to participate in the conversation. So here’s how to do it!

We welcome new members here in the Club Lexus forums on a daily basis. And who can blame them? The forums are an awesome resource for tech info, making new friends, and finding inspiration for your own builds. But just like your first day at school, jumping into the forums might be a little intimidating at first.

Heck, one of the most common questions we receive is simply “how do I create a new post?” This is the first step in truly becoming a member of the community, of course. And that’s why we decided to create this handy guide to help you ask a question or show off your Lexus properly. So follow these easy steps and you’ll be a pro at creating posts in no time!

Getting Started

Club Lexus Forums

The first thing you’ll want to do is log in, of course, which you can do by clicking the link in the upper right hand corner. If you haven’t yet signed up to become a member of Club Lexus, you’ll find the link to do that right next to it. Alternatively, you can quickly sign in with your Google account, Facebook, or email using the buttons just below the main menu.

Choosing a Sub Forum

Once you’ve signed up or signed in, you’ll want to find the right sub forum to create your post in. This is important because you want your post to find the right audience. Don’t be the person that posts a technical question in the Marketplace! To find your sub forum, simply scroll down on the main page. Here, you’ll find topics broken down into categories.

For this example, let’s say we just bought a brand new Lexus IS and we want to show off what we’ve done to it. So we scroll down to the “IS Models” sub forum and click on it. Next, since this is a 2019 IS, we’ll click on “IS – 3rd Gen (2014-present).” Here, you’ll find a few additional options. In this case, we’re going to choose “Build Threads” because we want to document the mods we are going to perform on our shiny new ride.

Creating a New Post

Now that you’ve successfully navigated to where you want to be, it’s time to create that new post. And to do that, simply click the “New Thread” button in the upper left hand corner. Now, you’ll see a few options. First, type in the title of your thread. In this case, we’ll call it “bfoote’s IS350 F-Sport Build.” Then, we’ll write in the purpose of the thread and some details in the text box below.

Next, scroll down to “Current Attachments” and add any photos you might want to include. In this case, since we’re showing off our new ride, we’ll want to definitely include some images. But if you’re just asking a question, that may not be totally necessary. You can also add tags or icons to your list, but that’s completely optional.

Once that’s finished, continue to scroll down until you see the “Additional Options” box. These options are also completely optional, but you’ll want to check out the “Thread Subscription” drop down box. Here, you can choose how or if you want to receive notifications when people reply to your thread. You can also add a poll if you’re looking to gauge the opinions of your fellow members on a topic.

Once you’re finished choosing your options, you can preview your post before it goes live, or just click on “Submit New Thread,” and you’re all set. And just like that, you’re officially an official Club Lexus member!
