‘Club Lexus’ Member Gives Toyota Soarer an Extreme Makeover

Toyota Soarer

SC300’s twin Toyota Soarer gets new lease on life from a Club Lexus member following some bad modifications.

The Toyota Soarer existed far before Lexus as a brand, making its debut as a personal luxury GT coupe way back in 1981. By 1986, it was based on the new-at-the-time A70 Supra platform. Thus, when the third-gen Soarer debuted in 1991, it was nothing more than Japan’s version of the Lexus SC300 with a few minor differences. Seldom seen here in the U.S., the Soarer is still an obviously cool car. So we were happy to see that Club Lexus member qyel managed to grab one and save it from poor taste in this recent forum thread.

“I won this Toyota Soarer on eBay back in July of 2019. I took an 8-hour Greyhound bus ride from Phoenix, Arizona to Sierra Vista, Arizona to pick it up. Drove it back without any mechanical issues. It previously had a Do Luck/ Veilside body kit, Veilside wheels, and it was painted gold. The kit was cool in my opinion, but a little over the top for a daily.”

We have to agree with that assessment. Thankfully, the OP set about making things right and giving this Soarer a much more tasteful appearance.

“I sold the body kit to someone locally. He installed it on his car and had it resprayed afterward. I love all the little things on this car. The cloth seats that get super dirty, the back up tone that plays when you’re reversing, the sweet digital dash, etc. I hope to own it for years to come.”

The unique look for this Soarer comes courtesy of a KBD Aero Craft Style body kit and fresh Blue/Violet paint. A set of BC coilovers give it the perfect stance and make room for Work Emotion CR Kiwami 18×9.5″ +12 and 10.5″ +15 wheels. They’ve been jazzed up a bit with blue Work RS lug nuts and black Work Emotion center caps. The wheels were then wrapped in Nankang NS-25 tires measuring 235/40/18 up front and  255/35/18 in the rear. Power has been enhanced a tad thanks to an HKS super power flow intake and Kakimoto Racing single exhaust.

With just a few carefully selected mods, this Toyota Soarer looks a million times better than before. At least in our humble opinion. So be sure and head over here to check out all the cool pictures of the car, and drop a few kind words for its owner, too!
