Lexus IS350

IS350 looks great with the custom front end, wheels, drop springs and additional body bits.

The Lexus IS sedan is a great looking sport sedan and it has gotten sportier with each generation. There are front end kits on the market that apply the third generation look to the second generation and new Club Lexus member “Pomc” recently introduced his 2010 with the newer front end design. His IS350 also has a handful of other upgrades that create a more aggressive look, including a lowering kit, aftermarket exhaust, taillights and LFA-style wheels.

Custom IS350 Introduction

When the OP first introduced the forum to his Lexus IS350, he began with some details on why he initially joined the forum, followed by the key details of his deep metallic red sport sedan.

Hey everyone, new to the site, but kind of lurking for a bit. Made my first post earlier today trying to find an LFA replica wheel to replace one of mine that’s cracked. I saw this thread and figured I’d post our car – which is my wife’s daily driver in nice weather. I thought I’d post some of my pics in case it helps anyone else make decisions on mods. I’ve done so much researching on the forums and hope I can contribute to the site.

With his first post, the OP also included pictures of his IS350 from a variety of angles both before and after painted the LFA replica wheels black.

The Community Loves It

A handful of members were quick to praise the OP for the appearance of this modified 2010 IS350, including “Primavera”, who had some questions about the wheels.

Dude, your car looks great! Any tire rubbing?

The OP replied to that with extensive detail.

Sometimes front left will rub on the liner in a tight turn.

Actively looking for new wheels now because I have a slight crack in the right rear wheel. Has a slight air leak, so every morning I need to top it off. Since my wife started using it as her daily driver, except in poor weather, she’s complained about how low it is.

It really is too low for a daily driver because it wouldn’t be able to clear a larger roadkill like a fat possum. Had that happen to me on a prior car and the fat possum broke my bumper. I cannot fit a finger at all under the rear wheel wells and in the front barely.

So here’s what I’m doing, just waiting for the parts to arrive soon. Replacing the shocks with KYB just-a-gas since almost have 90,000 miles on the stock shocks that have been used with the Tein s-tech springs.

I ordered Tein SKL90 h-tech springs to replace the s-techs. Shocks arrive today and springs in the next few days, so by the end of next week I’ll have them installed. Then I’ll see how it sits and figure out what to do for new wheels and tires.

While “GVille350” complemented the stance.

I’m amazing on how low those springs allow you to be in the rear there. Like a 2″+ drop back there!

Looking good though!

Finally, the OP posted another, more recent shot with a new wrap on the roof.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
