Donate to a Great Cause and Drive Away in Stunning Lexus LC 500
Can’t wait until summer for the new Lexus LC 500 Convertible? Bid to win 1-of-1 example being auctioned off for charity.
The Lexus LC is a pretty stunning car in coupe form. It only gets better with a convertible version, which Lexus unveiled at last year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show. The LC definitely has what it takes to compete with other premium luxurious sports cars like the BMW 8 Series. Unfortunately for eager buyers, the LC Convertible doesn’t go on sale until this summer. However, there is still hope for enthusiasts hoping to get behind the wheel of Lexus’ latest stunner. The annual Barrett-Jackson auction extravaganza will include the sale of one very special LC 500 Convertible. And making the event even more appealing is the fact that proceeds from the sale will go to two popular charities: the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The auction is being held on January 17 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The LC convertible in question looks like a pretty special example. The one-of-a-kind Lexus retains the normally aspirated V8 engine used on standard production LC drop-tops. That’s certainly no bad thing thanks to 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. There are plenty of other aspects of the car though that make it unusual, beginning with a VIN that ends in “100001.” The Structural Blue exterior paint was inspired by the, er, Inspiration Series vehicles. The brake calipers are finished in a matching blue color and are framed by 21-inch Liquid Graphite-colored forged alloys that have glossy black accents. The Liquid Platinum theme is continued with accents of the same color on the headlamp trim, side intakes, mirrors and taillights. The interior of the auction LC 500 is upholstered in white, semi-aniline leather. The door sills feature carbon-fiber scuff plates that say “LC Inspiration Series Launch Exclusive 1 of 1.” The trunk of the LC is even loaded with a luggage set from Zero Halliburton.
The winning bidder of the LC Convertible will also walk away with a framed drawing of the car, exclusive photos from the car’s production-line and even a certificate signed by the chief engineers behind the project. And as if that wasn’t enough the winner will also get the chance to attend a Lexus Performance Driving Experience and get a stay at Pebble Beach Resort in Monterey, CA that includes a round of golf. Best of all though is the fact that Lexus and Barrett-Jackson are donating all of the proceeds to charity. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America creates after school programs for kids and teens. The Bob Woodruff Foundation benefits post 9/11 veterans, service members and their families.
