Drifting AE86 Plays With LS400 V8 Power
If you really want to make enough power to drift an AE86 Corolla, there is only one choice: a V8 engine swap. Now before you get all huffy and complain about the overwhelming swath of LS conversions on this planet, let me stop you. This is a V8 swap, but there is no Chevy small block to be found. Rather, this particular machine has swapped the 1UZ from an LS400. Granted the 1UZ is basically the Japanese equivalent of the LS small block when it comes to swaps, but who cares. This car is still awesome.
Such awesomeness can be seen in the vid below, which was filmed a few years ago at the Auto City Speedway in Michigan. It’s full of V8 noise, sideways action, and bits of tire smoke. It is awesome in all the right ways. The video is only 34-seconds long, so you have no excuse not to hit play and give it a quick watch. If you want to have even more fun, come back later, replay the video with the sound muted, and play Yackety Sax in a different tab. The car moves quicker than your brain expects, so it makes for a fun comedy vid as well.
You’re welcome.
