Checking Out Lexus’ Black Panther Screening
Club Lexus got an advance look at Marvel’s superhero hit that opens today — and it’s not just the badass cars that steal the show!
First things first: Black Panther is an amazing film. Go watch it. And, of course, be sure to note all of the Toyota and Lexus vehicles prominently displayed in the movie. Lexus has teamed up with Marvel Studios to become the official car of Black Panther. Prominently featured are the two hero cars: a GS-F and LC 500, as well as a quartet of Toyota 4Runner TRD Pros.
We won’t spoil what happens, but the chase scene is one to behold. Oh, and the cacophony of 5.0-liter Lexus V8 goodness alone is worth the ticket price. The LC 500 is a gorgeous shade of Structural Blue. It does a great job of punctuating an otherwise dark scene, with dark chase cars. In terms of marketing, it’s brilliant.
Likewise, the cinematography was gorgeous. Photography nerds will gush over the scenes showcasing the gorgeous backdrop that is the African nation of Wakanda. There is one scene in particular, featuring Michael B. Jordan, who does an amazing job as villain “Erik Killmonger,” that showcases an incredible grasp of the severity of the moment.
We’re not one to freak out about movies, which is why Black Panther amazed us as much as it did. We were hooked from start to finish. The cast, the story, the music, oh, and the sweet rides, are truly a step above.
