Gaze at this Gallery: 2015 Lexus RC 350 F SPORT

In our week with the 2015 Lexus RC 350 F SPORT, we racked up more than 1,000 miles on the sexy coupe. About 800 of those miles were my fault. I took the car on a weekend road trip to San Francisco. Just a trip by myself wouldn’t have been enough of a test, so I decided to bring three friends along for the ride.

When I described my weekend plans to Managing Editor, John Coyle, I became a crazed maniac in his eyes … more so than I already am. “You’re going to subject people to the back seat? Well, they’re your friends.”

Really, the crazed maniac is John Coyle because the RC’s back seat offers plenty of space. I understand his concern, though. If John were a box of Wheaties, there’d be a label at the top saying “Now with 30 percent more FREE!” At six-foot three-inches tall, John Coyle doesn’t do back seats. I’ve known the guy two years, and I’ve never seen him sit in the back seat of any car, no matter how large.

Despite Mr. Coyle’s concerns, human adults can fit in the back of an RC.

My childishness notwithstanding, I happen to be a human adult. At five-foot 10-inches tall, the back seats in the RC 350 F SPORT suited me just fine. I would have had no problem doing 800 miles round-trip in them, but I was the driver, so I didn’t have to.

On my California journey, the back seats were occupied by two female friends of mine. One of them is 4′ 11″, and the other is 5′ 1″. Obviously, they were more than comfortable. That wouldn’t have been the case in a Porsche 911, even for women their size.
