Get Ready for the Three-Row RX 350L and RX 450hL
Prepare yourself Grocery Getters, Soccer Moms (and Dads), and Road Trippers Extraordinaire, for the three-row SUV that Lexus has been hinting at is finally coming.
According to Automobile News, the new three-row RX should be arriving in dealerships by late 2017 or early 2018. Presumably, since U.S. trademark applications have been filed, the V6 gas-sipping version should be known as the RX 350L, while the hybrid version will be the RX 450hL.
While the GX and LX both offer three rows, both of those are truck-based, as opposed to the more accessible and popular car-based RX. And keeping the branding as RX just makes sense, even though some have reported that the new three-row SUV might be called the TX.
“We’ll embrace the RX name,” says Lexus General Manager Jeff Bracken. “It will be something very close to what we have now with a minor variation.”
U.S. dealerships and customers alike have been clamoring for the three-row RX for a while now. And there is indeed a soft spot in the market place for luxury, three-row SUVs, since it’s not currently offered by BMW, Mercedes, or Audi.
So let’s get these cars on the road already, Lexus!
