Hell Bent for Leather: Would Rob Halford Use Woolite on Leather?
Where do you go for answers when you have a Lexus with a gorgeous leather interior but are not sure about how to maintain that luxurious look? The Club Lexus forums, of course.
Sure, most of us know our way around a home garage, and some of our more mechanically inclined members can probably rebuild an engine blindfolded. But even so, when it comes to taking care of the insides of our cars, we don’t always have all the answers. This is especially true when we’re dealing with high-end luxury interiors like those found in Lexus vehicles. Not that we’re complaining, but it does take some insight and experience to maintain luxury material such as leather. And unless you have a professional dominatrix or Rob Halford on speed dial, you may not have all the answers about how to keep your leather looking good.
What is the best method for treating, cleaning, and maintaining the leather interior in a Lexus? What are the best products to use, and how often should you use them? Fortunately, a lot of these answers are readily available from fellow Lexus owners who are sharing their expert advice based on personal experience right here in the Club Lexus forums.
In this title-says-it-all thread, “All About Lexus Leather,” which we recently came across in Club Lexus‘ “Lexus Special Interest Forums: Automotive Care & Detailing” section, our members are discussing leather and how to keep it looking its best.
The thread’s OP, “Guitarman,” explains exactly what his post encompasses right up front:
‘The basis of this post is to provide the technical information pertaining to the leather in our cars, that has been the subject of much confusion (including some of my own gaps of knowledge on specific Lexus models ) and to educate on its care.’
