Not only is today Super Tuesday, it’s also How-To Tuesday. But while Super Tuesday candidates are filled with plenty of hot air, today’s How-To Tuesday topic is about a lack there of.

Your tires could be leaking air for any number of reasons, and today’s How-To Tuesday article is here to help you identify which one is causing your flat tire. This should only take five to ten minutes of your time, and it only requires basic skills.

Start by checking the air pressure on your tires by using an air pressure gauge. Compare that reading to the recommended tire pressure for your Lexus, which can either be found online, in the owner’s manual, or on the placard mounted inside the driver’s door. This will let you know if you’re leaking air.

If your tire is indeed losing air, give that thing a good once-over; look for broken glass, debris, and especially nails. Usually if it’s a nail, it’ll be in one of the back tires. That’s because you’re more likely to roll over the nail with the front tire initially, which raises the nail up for the back one to puncture.

You can also use the soapy water trick, which is further detailed in the article. If that doesn’t uncover the leak, be sure to have a look at the rims, as a bent one can easily cause air to escape.

Whatever the cause, a leaking tire is nothing to fool around with, so head on over to our How-To article to get started on a fix.

Oh, and don’t forget to vote.
