How-To Tuesday: Maximizing Your Mileage
Just because you drive a Lexus, and your car looks like a million bucks, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have extra bucks to throw around frivolously. Even if you are feeling flush, you probably didn’t get that way by being wasteful. So for all the mindful, frugal folks here at Club Lexus, this How-To Tuesday article is for you.
Even if you’re already rolling efficiently in a hybrid, the MPG-maximizing tips in this article should be helpful, just ignore the part that says, “This article applies to the Lexus IS, ES, GS, and RX (2005-2013)”. What you shouldn’t ignore, though, is the great advice this article gives us about how to keep that MPG average maxed-out.
The article basically breaks it down into four simple MPG-saving categories, with a brief explanation about how to accomplish each. First, your going to want to drive more efficiently; I know, duh, but there is an art to it. Second, you’ll need to properly maintain your car; make sure you’re hitting those oil changes on time. Third, avoid driving with excess weight, so get the golf clubs out of the trunk. And fourth, cut back on the idling; it takes less gas to restart your car than it does to idle for a few minutes.
Obviously, these are just the basics. But if you want to get specific, by all means, check out the article, and enjoy the rest of your How-To Tuesday.
