Add some JDM executive style and function to your second generation Lexus IS with a seat headrest coat hanger.

Not all Lexus upgrades revolve around horsepower and handling. These are luxury cars, after all. Occasionally, we’ll see Club Lexus members personalizing their cars in the pursuit of increased luxury.

JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) modifications are popular for this reason. In fact, the Japanese VIP tuning style is more or less geared toward making cars more luxurious. Lexus models make a very popular base for VIP builds.

The factory often offers wild options we never get in the US. We’ve seen built-in drink coolers, side window wipers, and other unusual gadgets offered on Japanese-spec versions of Lexus and Toyota models. Unfortunately, those options often don’t make the trip stateside.

In our Marketplace, however, you’ll often find members selling some of those parts for those who wish to retrofit their Lexus with these features. These industrious members have researched that part numbers and tracked them down for their builds. Sometimes, if they have extra parts, they’ll offer them up for sale in our own Club Lexus Marketplace.

That appears to be exactly what’s happened hereClub Lexus member LOLM3 (we definitely approve of that username) is selling what could be the finishing touch for your VIP-style build.

Hang ‘Em High

These coat hangers attach to the headrest. They allow you to hang up your suit jacket for a more comfortable drive, and it can also prevent wrinkles and save you on your dry cleaning bill if you work in a professional environment (we wouldn’t know anything about that).

Interestingly enough, the instructions show the coat hanger installed on the left front seat, opposite the driver. On a US market left hand drive car, it might be best to install it on the right front seat. That way, you can reach across to hang up your jacket and take it with you when you arrive at your destination.

This coat hanger is designed to fit the second generation Lexus IS. The installation looks to be pretty simple. Simply remove your headrest, fit the base, and re-install. It’s an inexpensive upgrade at $120, but those in the know will be impressed by your JDM interior accessory.
