JonJon’s Sick VIP-Style IS

By -

vip-lexus-is-front.jpgFirst off, I find the origins of VIP-style cars hilarious. The story goes that Yakuza members began to fear that their preferred rides–giant, black German luxury sedans–made their presence too obvious.

So to keep a low profile, the tattooed, missing finger set began rolling in JDM machines modified with touches like big wheels, body kits and uber-lux interior touches, hence the “VIP” name. The humor, of course, comes from the fact that after you get done modifying a ride in said fashion, you’re just as obvious as you’d be in an S-Class. Bravo, gentlemen! That said, I’ve seen some incredible VIP builds over the years, and I was super impressed with JonJon’s wicked IS. The interior is obviously pimped to the max–check out the contrasting quilted inserts on the seats and door panels–and the engine bay looks like a candy store of go-fast goodies with a supercharger perched on top. But my favorite part of the build are the six-piston, neo-chrome BBK brake calipers. Talk about trick!
