Lexus Customers Named Most Loyal Among Luxury Automakers
Long-term reliability, performance and value have served Lexus well over its three decades in existence.
We cherish our vehicles. They play an integral part in our daily lives. But our love runs much deeper than a single vehicle. Many of us are brand loyal. We’ve cemented in our hearts that we’ll never buy a Chevy because of that time it refused to start in the middle of our 500-mile road trip to Florida. We found another brand instead that consistently delivers the quality we expected when we made our financial transaction. Reliability, dealership care, and value retention are considerations for most all of us. And according to J.D. Power, the most loyal community of customers belongs to the luxury automotive giant Lexus.
Brand loyalty is a coveted attribute among automotive manufacturers. With loyalty comes sales. The likelihood that a customer would return for business in the future, or recommend the brand to a loved one, increases exponentially when a customer has sworn his or her allegiance.
“Customer loyalty is perhaps the most important metric for manufacturers because it incorporates many factors that lead customers to become brand ambassadors… When a brand can connect emotionally with owners through the vehicle’s content, capabilities or prestige level, owners are much more likely to come back and purchase that same brand again,” said Tyson Jominy, Vice President of Data & Analytics at J.D. Power.
At 47.6%, Lexus leads the industry in 2019 for luxury brand customer loyalty. Nearly half of all Lexus customers happily return for their next automotive purchase.
Data collected from May of 2018 to June 2019 tallied the percentage of owners who remained faithful when either trading in or purchasing their next vehicle.
Unsurprisingly, Toyota, Lexus’ parent company, also ranked very highly in the mass-market brands category; securing a close 2nd place behind Subaru with a metric of 59.5%
The Japanese manufacturer’s dedication to reliability, attractive pricing, and customer satisfaction has reaped its rewards. Lexus will likely continue to reap these benefits for decades to come.
