Lexus Extends Hybrid Battery Warranty for Model Year 2020 Vehicles

New warranty is the longest offered in the luxury segment that covers first ownership and all subsequent owners.

Lexus announced today, it will extend its Hybrid Battery Warranty from 8 years/100,000 miles to 10 years from date of first use/150,000 miles, whichever comes first – an extension that is valid for all new model year 2020 Lexus hybrid vehicles. All other HV components will retain coverage under the Hybrid System Warranty at 8 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The new 2020 Lexus hybrid battery warranty is the longest warranty offered in the luxury segment that covers first ownership and all subsequent owners – making it even easier for Lexus to deliver the fuel efficiency, amazing driving range, dynamic performance, and eco-sensitive benefits that this innovative technology provides.

“Lexus introduced the first hybrid luxury crossover, RX 400h, in 2005 and first rear-wheel drive hybrid, GS, in 2007, and we remain a leader in luxury hybrid sales,” said Michael Moore, senior manager, Lexus Vehicle Marketing. “By implementing this new warranty extension for the hybrid battery, we are continuing to offer guests the eco-conscious benefits of a hybrid without compromising on performance, value or styling.”

With the commitment to performance across the hybrid line up, Lexus offers guests six 2020 hybrid models:

  • RX Hybrid with an EPA-estimated 30 combined MPG
  • UX Hybrid with AWD-e and an estimated 39 combined MPG
  • NX Hybrid with an EPA-estimated 31 combined MPG
  • LC Hybrid an EPA-estimated 30 combined MPG
  • LS Hybrid with an EPA-estimated 28 combined MPG (also available in AWD with an EPA-estimated 26 combined MPG)
  • ES Hybrid with an EPA-estimated 44 combined MPG

This hybrid battery warranty extension to 10 years from date of first use/150,000 miles, whichever comes first, is for all model year 2020 Lexus hybrid vehicles. Lexus encourages guests to consult their Lexus Warranty and Services Guide for more information on the New Vehicle Limited Warranty that accompanies each vehicle.

This warranty covers repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship of the components listed here and supplied by Lexus, subject to the exceptions indicated under “What Is Not Covered.” The Lexus Hybrid System Warranty coverage is 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, for the following components:

  • Hybrid Battery Control Module (battery voltage sensor)
  • Hybrid Control Module (power management control module)
  • Inverter with Converter
