Lexus IS Lines Light Up Photo Shoot
Lines, lines, everywhere are lines. But not all lines are created equally. And the lines of the Lexus IS are some of the most extraordinary around.
Just in case you didn’t realize how extraordinary the IS’s lines truly are, the good folks at Lexus UK have gone to the trouble of accenting them in the coolest way possible. Go ahead, take a look at these new IS 300h pics and tell me you’re not gawking. Tell me you’re not saying out loud, “How the heck did they do that?!”

Well, even if you’re not saying that, Lexus UK went ahead and posted a handy, helpful blog post about the shoot. They go into much greater detail there about the finer points of the process, but here’s a pretty good summation of just how they did it:
“We took a Sonic Titanium Lexus IS 300h Premier and applied luminous blue vinyl tape to the model’s shutlines, bodyshell creases and to the edges of its headlights and front ‘Spindle’ grille… To heighten the tape’s luminosity, high intensity flashes are blasted at different sections of the car. The images are then put together to form one image using Photoshop.”
These particular photos are part two of a three part photo series created by Lexus. The idea is to take one of their beautiful rides, and make it even more beautiful with the help of some unexpected light sources. Then they reveal the photos via social media exclusives.
The first part of the series captured the LFA with a technique known as “light painting,” which is definitely worth checking out. If the first two parts of the series are any indication, then the finale, in which the CT is highlighted, ought to be spectacular.
