Lexus LC Convertible Inspires Classic Era of Road Travel (Fridays are for F Presented by Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus)

Designers found the Lexus LC convertible a compelling muse to recreate the timeless glamour of travel. 

The Lexus LC convertible is a car that makes an impression on many levels. Without question, the LC is one of most beautiful convertibles on the road, demonstrating Lexus design at its most potent. But beyond its elegant lines, the Lexus LC boasts an evocative performance. Despite its thoroughly modern performance, the LC does feel legitimately timeless.

Lexus recently sought to reimagine vintage travel posters with the LC convertible to serve as inspiration. A group of artists designed classic poster images featuring the distinctive styling of the Lexus LC Convertible. This week’s Fridays Are for F focuses on how the LC influenced as inspiration.

Illustrator Rebecca Pymar chose the Peak District, specifically a section of Snake Pass, as the idyllic locale.

“It is renowned by drivers as one of the UK’s most enjoyable and breath-taking sections of road. It twists and turns, meandering through the hills and across the reservoir,” Pymar says of the locale.

“The Lexus LC convertible inspired the colors and feel of this piece …. The car itself has a distinctive form, each feature seamlessly blending into the next. It is both elegant and bold and really sets off the dramatic backdrop of the peaks. Its curves mirror the lines of the road and surrounding landscape, and the vanishing points of the road align with the car to make it flow and have a sense of movement within the picture.”

Nino Gordeladze created the this poster of the Lexus LC in Georgia on the Black Sea.

Gordeladze describes the design inspiration is “the start of an unforgettable summer adventure … the sensation of freedom elevated with style and charisma.”

A perfect pairing combines the Lexus LC and the French Riviera. Artist Matthieu Forichon wanted to “add the highlights of vintage automobile illustration, especially in France.”

From Monaco to Spain, the Lexus LC is at home.

“The sensationally beautiful Côte d’Azur fits perfectly with the equally sensational Lexus LC Convertible. Both the environment and the car itself convey an impression of luxury.” Artist Marc Lamers explains.

With vibrant color and midcentury modern verve; Danii Pollehn’s poster captures the motion, energy, and dynamic open top LC 500 experience.

It is a great project by Lexus, and allows us to appreciate the LC 500 convertible in a new, creative way.
