Lexus LC Coupes Enjoy Holiday Playdate on Track
Pro drivers coach amateurs around the track in new Lexus LC 500s. And the results are as cool as snow!
Just the other day, Lexus teased us with an ominous announcement of an impending Facebook live presentation. All we knew at the time was that it involved race car drivers, the Lexus LC, and a giant candy cane — all of which sounds like a good time. And the finished product turned out to be just that. In fact, it was a full 90-minute tire-smoking, corner-carving, tire-screeching good time.
And if you missed the live broadcast, you’re still in luck. Lexus was kind enough to also post the whole shebang on YouTube, since FB live can get a little janky every now and then. You’ll also be happy to know that the whole thing is well worth watching. Turns out, legendary racer Scott Pruett and drift pro Ryan Tuerck weren’t the only ones wheeling a Lexus LC around the racetrack. Two lucky Lexus fans were able to learn some techniques with those two hotshoes riding shotgun!
Oh, and did we mention that all four are wearing festive holiday onesies, too? After some instruction from the pros, the novices proceeded to go head-to-head in three different competitions. And even better, Lexus decided to donate $200,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of America in the winner’s name Which is an even better gift than getting to slide a new Lexus LC around a racetrack!
The most entertaining part of the entire event, however, is watching the novice drivers react to the pros driving maneuvers. Both admit to being a “little scared,” yet lap after lap, you can see the confidence growing. And both amateurs perform quite admirably throughout the competition. And in the process, this Lexus playdate turns out to be yet another brilliant idea from the masters of marketing.
