Lexus LC500 Coupe to Debut in Detroit!

Back in 2012, when it debuted as the LF-LC concept, there were many who immediately clamored for Lexus to put the luxury coupe hybrid right into production. Those folks are going to get their wish.

To kick off next year’s auto show circuit in Detroit next month, Lexus may be dropping the biggest reveal of the week when they show off their brand new LF-LC based production cars slated for 2017: the LC500 and the LC500h. According to Motoring, the car will look very close to the image above.

The LC500, aka the S-Class Coupe and 6 Series slayer, will scale larger than the RC while offering the same naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 currently found in the RC F and GS F. That veteran engine will be mated to the first ever Aisin 10-speed automatic.

The LC500h “will employ an all-new 3.5-litre V6 ‘multi-hybrid’ for rear-drive models, that will also be offered on the next-generation LS,” says Motoring. The new hybrid motor is built for performance, with an expected combined output around 450hp.

There’s also word that an LC-F is in the works for 2018, which could sport a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 humming with some 600 ponies!
