Lexus LF-FC Concept Finds New Home in Dubai
Now you can take in the stunning lines of the Lexus LF-FC Concept while grabbing some lunch.
It might be a little old in the tooth for a concept car. But the Lexus LF-FC is no less stunning than it was when it took the stage at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. And instead of stowing the swoopy concept away in some basement at Lexus HQ, the automaker is putting it to good use. Because now the LF-FC has taken up resident inside the Dubai Intersect by Lexus, a swanky bistro/cafe/meeting space.
The Dubai location is the second Intersect “lifestyle hub” opened by the luxury automaker. Both it and the original location in Tokyo are the creations of interior designer Masamichi Katayama. But while the general concept is to create a place where people can gather and share ideas, there are numerous elements of Lexus design signatures as well.
The most obvious runs long the walls, where you’ll spot the obvious Lexus spindle grille influence. And the bamboo they’re carved out of is of the same origin as the wood used in Lexus’ steering wheels. But for fans of the brand, nothing beats heading up to the “Garage.” Because that’s where you’ll find a rotating display of special Lexus cars.
In the past, we’ve seen rides including the LF-C2 and LF-LC Concepts, as well as an artistically painted GS F. But now visitors to the bistro are treated to Lexus’ first ever fuel cell flagship concept – the Lexus LF-FC. Surrounded by reinforced glass, it’s the perfect setting for taking in the dramatic lines of the stunning car. The lines that have obviously influenced both current and future Lexus design language. And now, two years after it made its world debut, we can enjoy them with a cup of coffee.
