Lexus LFA: What Makes It the Most Special Car Ever Built?
It’s hard to convey in words just how good the Lexus LFA is. But this review sums it up better than any we’ve ever seen.
The Lexus LFA exploded into our lives and left nearly as quickly. Like a shooting star, albeit one with perhaps the most amazing exhaust note we’ve ever heard. Despite this, the LFA has endured the test of time better than most supercars, and still leaves a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to slip behind the wheel. Including YouTuber Mr JWW, who got to test out the ultimate Lexus in perhaps the ultimate setting – Dubai.
Sure, there are certainly more beautiful settings and curvier driving roads out there in the world. But the straight, never-ending desert roads of Dubai allow you to really stretch the legs (and the revs) of the LFA’s screaming V10. And that latter part is what really left a lasting impression on our host, as well as the rest of the world.
“The sound this thing makes. It’s funny that over the years, this car seems to have developed this cult status. They only made 500 of them worldwide.” And it turns out, the white car he’s driving is something truly special. It’s car #480, the last of the “regular” LFAs produced. The remaining 20, of course, were all Nurburgring Edition cars.
Making the LFA even more special is the fact that it’s truly one of a kind, as our host points out. “We’re never going to see one of these cars again. Lexus is never going to go ‘you know what – we need to make another flagship supercar to show what we’re capable of.’ In this day and age, even if they do it again, it’ll probably have a smaller engine. And it definitely won’t be a V10 that revs to 9,500 rpm. So this is a very significant car in general. A very special car.”
Sadly, he’s probably right. But at the end of the day, this inherent uniqueness just makes the Lexus LFA that much more special!
