LX 600 "OFFROAD" JAOS ver

The Lexus LX 600 ‘OFFROAD’ JAOS ver is the result of a collaboration between the luxury automaker and Japanese off-road specialist JAOS.

The new 2022 Lexus LX 600 made its global debut earlier last month. The Japanese luxury automaker’s flagship SUV also graced the Lexus booth at the recently culminated Los Angeles Auto Show. Soon, we will get to see a one-off Lexus LX 600 at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2022. Toyota’s luxury sub-brand partnered with off-road specialist JAOS to build the Lexus LX 600 “OFFROAD” JAOS ver.

The concept is based on the OFFROAD variant of Lexus’ flagship SUV. The custom ensemble gets a slew of accessories and off-road-ready upgrades. The pièce de résistance of the concept is its 20-inch ENKEI made alloy wheels, which will be available in Titanium Gold and Matte Gun Metallic finish. Toyo Open Country A/T III (285/55R20) tires envelope the JAOS TRIBE CROSS rims.

We find that lightweight CFRP skid protectors dominate the front- and rear-end of the custom SUV. The resin parts will offer undercarriage protection during off-road driving. The rear skid plate also has an integrated hitch and sports the JAOS logo. Both protectors flaunt an exposed carbon fiber finish.

There’s more carbon fiber treatment on the sides of the LX 600 “OFFROAD” JAOS ver.

The show car also gets JAOS 20mm type-R fenders wide enough to accommodate the large TRIBE CROSS wheels. The Japanese off-road specialist has not made any changes to the powerplant. Under the hood of concept SUV, we find the same 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 motor, which churns out 409 HP of power and 479 lb-ft of peak torque.

The Tokyo Auto Salon 2022 is one of the largest annual custom-car shows in the world and is held in Chiba, Japan. The event will be open to the public from January 14th to 16th. Visitors can check out the one-off LX 600 OFFROAD JAOS ver in person at the Makuhari Messe event hall. JAOS has confirmed that it will introduce its new range of accessories by April 2022.

In its press release, Lexus states, “The LX 600 “OFFROAD” JAOS ver., based on the LX 600 “OFFROAD” model, combines the exclusive “OFFROAD” version’s exterior design that projects powerful off-road performance, with JAOS’s distinctive rugged customization and is sure to inspire a sense of adventure for its driver and passengers.”
