With 2016 in the Books, Here’s the Top News Stories that We Think will Dominate the Lexus Landscape in 2017

We ended 2016 with a look back at what you guys fell in love with over the last 12 months. But the calendar has turned, and it’s time for us to turn our eyes toward the oncoming horizon. These are the stories that we think will be the biggest news in 2017.

Lexus: Something Wicked this Way Comes

Let’s just go ahead and point out the gigantic, purple elephant in the room that also happens to be on fire and playing a killer guitar solo. The all-new Lexus LS just debuted in Detroit. As the flagship of the brand, the new LS carries an immense amount of interest and excitement with it. When you couple the drivetrain changes and new technology hiding under its new skin, we suspect that the luxury sedan will dominate these pages for months.

Now that we have the LS out of the way, let’s talk about some other items that may be making their way onto our pages in 2017.

Last year, the LC was huge news, and it managed to make up about half of our top-viewed stories. As we trundle through the months, we expect that trend to continue with talk of potential roadster, or high performance F variants of Lexus’ new coupe.

Now that we have a new LS and LC, we should also look to see what other new products are on the horizon. Both the GX and LX SUVs are bordering on ancient and are due for new-generation replacements. The Toyota Land Cruiser is rumored to get an update soon. Expect spy shots and rumors of that as we get closer to the end of the year.

On the go-fast side of things, aside from a potential F variant of the LC, we think there is a chance that a new IS F could be in the works. Lexus has held a pretty steady cadence of F releases over the last few years, and the IS is the perfect model to continue that trend. A new IS F could give buyers looking at the RC F a more practical alternative for a similar price.
