Lexus NX Deemed the Perfect Road-Trip Car
Sedan offers all the comfort, little compromise, says Miami tastemaker.
Polarizing looks aside, the current range of Lexus vehicles is as traditionally Lexus as ever before. The cars are smooth, amply comfortable and are an all-around joy to spend time in. Trust us, we’ve done the time, and we know that the sales-superstar NX is no exception to this rule, with its functional, supple interior and strong sporting prowess.
The folks over at Miami Community News know this, too. The publication’s auto reviewer recently took the NX on a four-hour road trip down south to beautiful Key West. During the trip the journalist evaluated the NX as a luxury performer and whether or not it could effectively get passengers from one place to another in comfort and style. Spark notes: It did.
The writer was more than impressed with the NX’s driver and passenger leg room–all 42.8 inches of it. In the rear, the kids will not be cramped either, with 36 inches of rear passenger legroom.
“The car didn’t leave us fatigued with poor positioning and cramped legroom…we were comfortable the whole way down,” says the reviewer. “Add the moonroof and you are in for a great road trip with amazing views of the sky and the ocean.”

In addition to general roominess, the newspaper admired selective creature comforts like the heated and cooled seats, abundant stereo system and three driving modes: – eco, normal, and turbo. “Manual shift mode and wheel paddles means you can get feisty when want to,” he adds.
The NX is available in hybrid trim, starting at $39,720 and earns and impressive 40 MPG highway. All things considered, the NX is a standout in the very crowded compact luxury crossover segment and is a pretty good choice of transportation down to a sunny island, too.
