Lexus Offering Black Line Special Edition Package for IS F Sport
Limited to 900 units, Black Line Editions will be offered on 2020 RWD and AWD examples of IS 350 F Sport and IS 300 F Sport models.
The IS F Sport line from Lexus is already pretty appealing, thanks to more than generous performance provided by the IS 300 RWD version’s 241-horsepower 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-banger, or the AWD’s 3.5-liter V6 that puts out an even more impressive 260 horsepower. Move up the IS F 350 and things get even better, with 311 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 on the AWD and RWD versions. And whether it’s the eight-speed automatic that the 4-cylinder uses, or the 6-speed auto with paddle shifters paired with the V6, both models are quick enough to put smiles on the faces of sport sedan enthusiasts. In an effort to offer its customers the ability to be a more unique IS F model, Lexus is offering a limited-production Black Line Special Edition for the 2020 model year.
Standouts included on the package include F Sport 18-inch “split-spoke” alloy wheels finished in a moody looking Black Vapor Chrome Finish, which are complemented by a similar looking black chrome front grill and blacked-out rearview mirrors. Lexus is offering the Black Line Special Editions in three exterior color choices. Buyers can choose between Obsidian (fancy talk for ‘black’), Ultra White or Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0. The special models will also feature triple-beam LED headlights and will come standard with Navigation and the ever helpful blind spot monitoring.
And, lest buyers think the Black Line changes were limited to the exterior, the interior designers at Lexus were also set loose on the inside of the cars. Here, you’ll find black and gray upholstered seats exclusive to the Black Line and which feature stylish Indigo Blue stitching. There are also blue accents in the same shade on the heated wood steering wheel, though to be honest “blue” and “wood” aren’t two ingredients we’d expect to find together. Still, Lexus gets points for uniqueness. Indigo Blue accents can also be found on the switch panel mounted to the door arm rests as well as the glove box.
In addition to the niceties listed above, Black Line Special Editions will also feature as standard equipment Lexus’ SmartAccess card key. Much like a hotel key, the flat key fits easily in your wallet or slips conveniently into your purse. According to Lexus, the Black Line IS F Sports will be available this November. The IS F 300 RWD is priced at $45,200 with the AWD version coming in at $47,650. The more powerful IS 350 F RWD will set you back $48,820, while the big daddy AWD version is $50,985. That doesn’t include Lexus’ delivery, processing and handling fee of $1,025. Don’t waste any time getting in line though. With only 900 examples available, they’re bound to go fast… literally and figuratively that is.
