Lexus RC F GT500 Plus LF-LC Concept Equals Gran Turismo Vision

Very few of us have been lucky enough to sit in the missile-ready Lexus RC F GT500, which is currently eating up track in Japan’s Super GT GT500 race series. Even fewer of us have gotten the chance to properly flog such a beast.

Now, thanks to Gran Turismo 6’s update 1.17, we can all get that chance! Or at least anyone who has access to a PS3 and knows how to update the darn thing.

Judging from the Gran Turismo TV clip below, I’d say now would be a good time to figure out that whole updating thing, because the venerable video game has taken the storied RC F GT500 (shown just above) and merged it with the Lexus LF-LC coupe concept (shown just below) and created something entirely radical: the Lexus LF-LC GT “Vision Gran Turismo.”

The video actually starts out with real-world footage of the RC F. Then, magically, as the music picks up, you’re suddenly driving the LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo. And you’re off! And boy, if you aren’t really racing!

And that’s just the commercial.

The update also contains some other additives, which fans of the game will be happy about, including new Alpine Vision Gran Turismo cars, which look pretty darn bad-to-the-bone as well. You can read all about it at Sony’s PlayStation.Blog.

But definitely watch the video first. It’s pretty spectacular. Honestly, I think I would’ve been better off calling in sick to work today. Because now I have to go out and buy a PS3 and Gran Turismo 6. But at least Mr. Taxman will understand it’s all in the name of research. Right?
