Lexus Releases Pricing for New LC
Spoiler Alert: This Might Be the Best Lexus Bargain this Decade
The biggest question about the new Lexus LC 500 and 500h Hybrid had nothing to do with the car’s 0-60 times. Nor was it about the fuel economy numbers. What everyone has been waiting with baited breath about has been the price tag. At the 2017 North American Auto Show in Detroit, Lexus finally spilled the beans — and it was better than expected. The starting price of the new 2018 LC 500 is $92,000. The hybrid comes in a touch higher at $96,510.
Some of you may be balking at the price tag. However, when you start targeting competitors, things look pretty good for the stunning new Lexus coupe. The BMW 650i Coupe starts at $89,000. The freshly-launched 911 GTS has an MSRP of $119,000. And the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT rings in at $111,200. It is worth mentioning that all three of the cars have less horsepower than the 471 ponies flowing from the LC 500’s 5.0L V8. And yes, we understand that S-Class coupe might be the closer competitor from Mercedes than the GT. But it’s even more expensive, while still not providing as much horsepower.
When it comes to ticking the options boxes, Lexus has also beaten the competition with just four available option packages. Those packages range in price from $4,000 to $10,000 for the LC 500. The same is offered for the LC 500h but comes in lower prices that range from $2,400 to $8,790. It seems that Lexus has not only developed a world-class sports coupe but also managed to make it prettier and cheaper than the competition, too.
