Lexus Reveals Marvel Studios’ ‘Eternals’ Vehicles
Lexus and Marvel Studios collaborate to design 10 character-themed concept vehicles, based on all superheroes in the new ‘Eternals’ film.
A superhero is defined by their own unique superpowers. Fantastic speed, strength, or intelligence can be the mark of a superhero. Lexus makes automobiles that also posses some of these same attributes. So, it makes sense that Lexus would collaborate with Marvel Studios to create a custom car for each superhero in the upcoming ‘Eternals’ movie. The partnership is not a new one as Lexus worked with Marvel in the past for the Black Panther film. However, this time there are 10 unique vehicles that were inspired by the characters in the new movie. You want strength you go with an LX. You want speed you go with a RC F Track Edition. There is something for everyone.
Each vehicle has a custom wrap design that draws inspiration from the character it was designed for. In addition to the wrap each vehicle emits a golden glow from the vehicles’ grilles and underbodies. This is meant to reflect the characters’ shared energy signature as seen in the film. The vehicles will not be for sale, but they will be featured in various media events including the red-carpet premier.
“We’re excited to bring the ‘Eternals’ partnership to life through these custom-wrapped Lexus vehicles,” said Vinay Shahani, Lexus vice president of marketing. “Just as each Eternals character has a distinct style and set of capabilities, so does each character-themed Lexus.” The folks over at Marvel are just as excited. “After so successfully telling a co-branded story on the original Black Panther film, we’re thrilled to be teaming up with Lexus once again. Combined with our custom spot directed by the Russo Brothers and starring Kumail Nanjiani in-character as Kingo, these Eternals-inspired vehicles show that exciting collaborative storytelling can extend even beyond traditional media,” said Mindy Hamilton, SVP, Global Partnership Marketing at Marvel Studios.
Custom Vehicle Lineup
The lineup of custom Lexus vehicles includes the following: Ajak x Lexus GX – A powerful character paired with one of the most capable SUVs available. Druig x Lexus GX – The rebel character also gets a GX as he possesses super strength and stamina. Gilgamesh x Lexus LX – This is the strongest Eternal, so the Lexus LX makes perfect sense. Phastos x Lexus LX – This character is the technology leader of the team so the most technologically advanced Lexus, the LX is the ideal matchup. Sprite x Lexus NX – The NX is the crossover that can do everything, so it goes to the illusionist of the group. Kingo x Lexus IS – The Lexus IS is bold and powerful much like Kingo.
That covers the powerful and practical characters but there are other superheros that still need rides. The remaining vehicles are: Ikaris x Lexus LS – The flagship luxury sedan is paired to the tactical leader of the group. Makkari x Lexus RC F Track Edition – Of course this one goes to the fastest Eternal. Sersi x Lexus RC F – Sersi is powerful and quick just like the RC F. Thena x Lexus LC 500 – This vehicle completes the set. It is sleek, stylish, and beautiful. Thena is played by Angelina Jolie so is there any wonder why she got the LC 500?
The cars look great. The best part is you don’t have to be a superhero to buy the model they are based on. You will not get the custom wrap and the golden glow of these special vehicles. However, you can just head to your local Lexus dealer and order whatever Lexus best matches your superpowers.
