Lexus RX Sales in Japan Far Exceed Yearly Goal
We’re pretty big fans of the new Lexus RX, as we’ve driven it and had nice things to say here and here. But apparently the folks in Japan really LOVE the new RX.
In the first month of sales, Lexus Japan received 9,000 pre-orders for the SUV. Considering that they only expect to sell 500 per month in the Land of the Rising Sun, that’s phenomenal. For those that are doing the math, that means in one month, they’ve taken orders for more vehicles than they planned on selling for the entire year!
But the RX isn’t the only one seeing sales success; the NX that came before it had 9,500 pre-orders, based on a sales goal of 750 per month.
It’s all good new for Lexus in Japan, and hopefully the sales will continue to stay strong. The RX is an important global vehicle, and seeing it do well in the company’s home country has to be a point of pride for the marque.
