Lexus Shows off 2020 NX F Sport at 2019 L.A. Auto Show
Revised 2020 Lexus NX shines with exciting new tech features as L.A. Auto Show kicks off for press members.
The Lexus NX has remained one of the most popular compact luxury SUVs on the market. But for 2020, the automaker has bestowed a few welcome upgrades on their segment leader. We caught this beautiful F Sport sitting outside the 2019 L.A. Auto Show, which opened up to the press this week. The show opens its doors to the public November 22-December 1. In the meantime, we here at Club Lexus will be bringing you all the latest Lexus models and custom machines live from L.A.!
Design wise, the 2020 Lexus NX is essentially unchanged. Save for one new color, that is – Cadmium Orange. The biggest news about this refreshed model is that it now comes equipped with Android Auto functionality on all vehicles built after October 1. This connectivity feature is something that folks have been pining for for quite some time now, so it’s obviously great news for Android fans.
The 2020 NX also comes standard with Lexus Safety System + 2.0 with Lane Tracing Assist and Road Sign Assist. Additional options include Intuitive Parking Assist, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a Comfort Package with driver and passenger heated and ventilated seats. Active Cornering Assist (ACA) and a power tilt/telescoping steering column round out the new standard equipment list for 2020.
The F Sport is obviously our favorite of the NX family, and it packs some exciting new features for 2020. That includes unique instrumentation inspired by the Lexus LFA, along with a Lexus-first G-Force meter “G-ball” in the Multi Information Display. The G-ball moves in response to the vehicle’s lateral and longitudinal forces. The MID displays the peak force in each direction. Display bars indicate the steering angle, throttle opening angle and brake pressure. The MID also provides a turbo-boost display.
All of which adds up to a pretty impressive package for anyone shopping for a new compact luxury SUV. Despite its success, Lexus has remained keen on updating the NX to keep it fresh. And we expect these subtle changes to keep customers lining up to buy them. Regardless, this is just the tip of the iceberg. We’ll be coming to you live from the 2019 L.A.
