Lexus UX Wrapped Up in Blue at Monterey Car Week

Lexus at Monterey Car Week

Lexus UX arrives at Monterey Car Week ready for a day of bike riding around the coast.

Clublexus is here at Monterey Car Week to bring you all the hottest Lexus models hobnobbing with all of the vintage and modern luxury brands. We’ve got our walking shoes on, our best pairs of sunglasses to protect our eyes from the sun, and even a fancy analog watch or two to tell the time. And of course, our camera to capture all things Lexus at Monterey.

Our first stop takes us to this special 2019 Lexus UX 250h, wrapped in an Oracel vehicle wrap in a shade of blue called Lagoon. And from the looks of things, this UX is ready for a trek to a lagoon for a day of bike riding around the Pacific coast nearby.

Keeping the 22-speed Lexus F Sport Roadbike atop of the UX is the crossover’s Inno Base Rack System, but the real horsepower comes from the 2.0-liter inline-four with Lexus Hybrid Drive. The combo has a projected rating of 176 horses heading to all corners through the UX’s CVT unit, and will keep your wallet full with a projected EPA combined estimate of 38 MPG.

Not that this UX isn’t a performer. The blue urban escape vehicle has an Apexi full cat back exhaust system with performance dampers, and the 20-inch Vossens wrapped in Nitto Invo Ultra High Performance tires give the UX plenty of aggression, especially when the crossover’s Drive Mode Select is thrown into Sport mode.

Meanwhile, an array of safety systems, paired with Apple’s CarPlay and Siri Eyes Free, are good to go in keeping you safe and informed. The complementary Enform Safety and Service Connect services are also a plus, especially if you keep your UX for the first decade of ownership.

We don’t know about you, but we would love to take this special UX on a weekend getaway from the grind.

Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.

From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.

Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.

Aubernon is a member of the International Motor Press Association, and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
