Hokkaido Edition

Hokkaido Edition customers can opt for the 5.0L V8 powered LC 500 coupe or convertible, or the 3.5-liter hybrid V6 LC 500h coupe.

Lexus’ LC nameplate is stirring up quite a lot of excitement these days. We recently discussed the all-new 2022 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series, and the Japanese luxury automaker will only manufacture 150 examples of the new limited edition models. Earlier this month, Toyota’s sub-brand extended its LC coupé and convertible range by introducing the new Hokkaido Edition.

The special edition derives its name and inspiration from the eponymous island of Hokkaido in Japan. The LC Hokkaido Edition will only be available in the 500 and 500h configurations. As a result, customers can select between a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid or a 5-liter V8 powertrain.

The island is famous for its volcanoes and Lexus tried to recreate the distinctive ambiance for the occupants with a dark red-black interior. The island of Hokkaido is also where Lexus fine-tuned the LC. This was possible with the help of its ‘Takumi’ master drivers and the Lexus Shibetsu proving ground. Lexus also developed the legendary LFA supercar at the iconic test track.

Hokkaido Edition

The company has revealed that it will only manufacture 80 examples of the exciting new Hokkaido Edition.

The automaker will produce 40 limited edition versions of the LC flagship coupé and LC flagship convertible. In addition to the fiery interior design, Lexus also updated the strikingly dynamic exteriors of the sports car. A special handful of customers will get to select between Sonic platinum, Flare Red, F White, or Graphite options.

In addition to dark LED headlights and taillight clusters, these sports cars will also get black signature trim and grille. All Hokkaido Editions will ride on a set of purposeful 21-inch alloy wheels. Customers can select between either a black or red soft-top for the convertible versions, which offers a striking contrast to the bodywork.

The black cabin of the 2022 Lexus LC Hokkaido edition is offset by dark rose trim found on the door handles, driver’s side dashboard, and center console. Unfortunately, the 2022 LC Hokkaido edition will not be making its stateside debut, and these cars will be sold exclusively in Europe. “This car fully embodies the Lexus Driving Signature, its linear acceleration, handling, and braking precisely attuned to the driver’s intentions,” states Lexus.
