Minor Trim and Paint Color Changes Highlight Tweaks For 2023 Lexus LX 600
The Lexus flagship SUV was just redesigned from the ground up for 2022 so the 2023 Lexus LX 600 sees mostly minor changes.
The fourth generation Lexus LX was introduced for the 2022 model year. The entire vehicle was revamped. It is built on a new platform, has a new engine, a new transmission and a new Ultra Luxury model was added. So, it is understandable that the reveal of the 2023 Lexus LX 600 includes relatively minor changes. The LX is the lowest volume selling SUV in the Lexus lineup; however, it is the flagship in the SUV range, so it remains an important vehicle for the brand. As such, even after a major redesign updates must be made to further improve the vehicle.
The engine, platform and trim levels all remain the same. Of course, this being a new model year, the price did not remain the same. Prices will increase between $915 to $1,905 depending on the LX model you choose. Do the changes justify the price increase? That is a question only you can answer. But let’s take a closer look at the specific changes.
2023 Upgrades
The 2023 Lexus LX 600 will come standard with a heated steering wheel on all models. For 2022 you had to step up to the LX 600 Premium model to get the heated steering wheel as standard. So, that does help justify the price increase on the base model. At the other end of the spectrum is the Ultra Luxury model. That model gets Takanoha wood trim as standard. It is also available with a new Black and Sunflare interior color. Speaking of colors. The Nori Green Pearl exterior option is available for F SPORT Handling models. The rear seat entertainment screens will get screen covers as standard on 2023 models.
Standard LX 600
Under the hood of the 2023 LX 600 is the same 3.5L twin turbo V6 introduced last year. It produces 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. It is hooked up to the Direct Shift-10AT transmission. Active Height Control (AHC) and Suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) are also part of the LX 600 SUV. The AHC system offers three different height settings while the vehicle is in motion. There is Normal, Hi1 and Hi2. There is a Low setting as well that can be used when the vehicle is at rest to make for easier ingress and egress. Also available exclusively on the F Sport model is a Torsen Limited Slip Differential and 22-inch wheels. You can get your LX 600 models to roll on 18 or 20-inch wheels. Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) and Crawl Control will help you get to where you are going regardless of tire size.
Interior
Aside from the new Takanoha wood trim and Black and Sunflare interior on the Ultra Luxury model not much changes inside the 2023 Lexus LX 600. There are 19.3 inches of screen access inside. A 12.3-inch upper screen for navigation audio controls and the Multi-Terrain Monitor. The 7-inch lower screen shows the climate control screen and serves as a driving-support screen for Multi-Terrain Select. The big SUV comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5.
