Acura Will Debut the NSX, Like For Real Guys, in Detroit
If you welcomed a newborn when Acura debuted the concept which would evolve into the second-gen NSX, by now your bundle of joy would be a paste-licking, crayon-chomping third-grader. Along the way, your precious baby would also have gone from being motivated by a front mounted V-10 to harnessing its ponies from a turbocharged mid-engine hybrid drivetrain.
Or something like that.
Anyway, earlier today, Acura announced that the actual car–not the initially sexy but now almost tired prototype Honda has been dragging to every auto show for the last decade–will have its official coming-out party at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 12th. Personally, I thought we’d have seen the Moller SkyCar before we saw this vehicle in showrooms. Last time we saw the NSX, it was lit better–because the engine was on fire at the ‘Ring–but from what I can tell from the teaser pics and video below, I don’t think we’re in for any big surprises when the cover comes off in the Motor City.
And in all honesty? That’s awesome. Honda has been without something actually exciting in its stable for far too long. Here’s hoping this baby is worth the wait.
