Flashback Friday: deviantART LexusIS F SPORT From SEMA 2013
At SEMA last year, the reactions to the deviantART Lexus IS F SPORT were mixed. Some members loved it, others hated it, and there wasn’t a lot of middle ground.
In some ways, the swinging for the fences strategy that designer Robert Evans and his team took in 2013 mirrors the styling attitude we’ve seen from Lexus–bold, polarizing and unapologetic. Sure, while not everyone has loved the styling of the NX–though I think it looks sick–the sales figures we’ve seen indicate that if anyone at the company took the criticism personally, they’ll be crying all the way to the bank.
While the styling here is over the top, SEMA isn’t Geneva. It’s a brutal blowout where the lunatics run the asylum. So it’s more appropriate in this setting than it would be, say, in the Ralph’s parking lot. As I said last year, I’d love to see the BASF Ultra White be a factory option across the Lexus line. So has a year changed your opinion of this ride? Check out the pics below and let me know!
