AutoGuide
has reported that Lexus confirmed an RC F drop top at its National Dealer Meeting in Los Angeles. At the RC F launch, there was no talk about a drop top version. But you didn’t have to be Nostradamus to see this coming.

The IS C is the only convertible Lexus currently has on sale, and it hasn’t been substantially changed since being introduced in 2010. So it makes sense the brand is covering its bases and developing replacements. While the AutoGuide report notes there was no mention of an open-top standard RC, the confirmation of the high-performance model guarantees it. No timetable was given for the debut of the RC F convertible, but I’d expect we’ll get more information around the start LA Auto Show next month. Stay tuned.
