One Owner Lexus SC400 is an Absolute Dream
One-Owner Wonder – But Not Flawless
Our featured SC400 has a lot going for it. For starters, it has lived in California its entire life. Additionally, it’s been owned by the same owner since new and was dealer serviced for roughly half of its existence. The owner opted for the package that included gold badging, a nice option that complements the Classic Green Pearl paint. The Lexus has also been garaged since new and it really shows. The paint still shines and the headlights have not succumbed to UV damage. And of course, the SC400 comes with some baked-in goodness for every example out there. The “1UZ” 4.0 liter V8 is just as bulletproof as pretty much any other Toyota powerplant out there. Similarly, at an output of 260 horsepower and 270 Ib-ft of torque, it’s still fairly quick by modern standards.
That being said, the coupe does have some issues. The automatic temperature control isn’t currently functioning. Trunk access is limited because it cannot support itself. There are some scratches in the paint. And the drive belt tensioner isn’t in the best shape. But, for a 23-year-old car, those aren’t insurmountable issues.
