Our 10 Favorite Lexus “December to Remember” Ads

2017 Lexus GX 430 - December to Remember 2017

Now in its 22nd year, the famed “December to Remember” campaign helped Lexus continue its pursuit of perfection on the sales floor.

A decade after Lexus landed in Detroit with a pair of luxury sedans, the brand had firmly established itself as a big-time player in the game against Mercedes and BMW. Yet, in its eternal pursuit of perfection, Lexus saw a new opportunity to add a little jingle (and a big red bow) to the showroom floor. Rather than focus on the cars themselves, the brand decided to focus on the warmth of the holiday season. And thus, the “December to Remember” campaign was born.

Now in its 22nd year, the “December to Remember” campaign is as strong as ever, and no chip shortages or supply-chain issues will stop Lexus from bringing the merriment to its fans of all ages. In honor of this special campaign, we’ve picked out our 10 favorite ads that make every December something to remember.

10. “Runway”

Ever wonder how Santa is able to land his sleigh and eight tiny reindeer upon roofs around the world? “Runway” answers that question with a young girl planning the perfect display of landing lights. Instead of a sleigh, though, a 2022 ES F Sport in Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 appears on the front lawn (topped with a big red bow, of course). Her parents are certainly happy with the gift, while the grandmother is shocked that the runway actually worked.

Cameron Aubernon's path to automotive journalism began in the early New '10s. Back then, a friend of hers thought she was an independent fashion blogger.

Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.

From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.

Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.

Aubernon is a member of the International Motor Press Association, and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
