Own Paris Hilton’s LFA for Half a Million Dollars!
If you have been putting off buying an LFA, perhaps this celebrity-owned example is what you have been waiting for.
From 2010 through 2012, Lexus only produced 500 road-going examples of its ultimate supercar the LFA. That being the case, there are never more than a handful for sale at any given time, and finding the right one for you can take some work. They also tend to hold their value a bit better than the typical ES 350 of similar vintage so don’t expect a bargain when shopping for one. Especially if the example you are looking at has a celebrity ownership history. LFA #108 was formerly owned by the famous socialite and Cosmoplitan U.K.‘s April cover girl Paris Hilton, and now it can be yours.
Although the final LFA rolled out of Toyota’s Motomatchi plant nearly eight years ago, it remains one of the most sophisticated and impressive cars on the road today. Its 4.8L V10 engine pumping out 553 horsepower might not seem all that impressive given the numbers some other modern supercars produce. However, this engine remains one of the most impressive to ever be bolted into a vehicle. It is dimensionally smaller and lighter than Toyota’s own 3.5L V6 of the day yet delivers twice the power. The engine has lightweight components that allow it to rev from idle to 9,000 RPM in about half a second. It revs so quickly in fact that no analog tachometer could keep up, so a digital one was used instead.
No conversation about the LFA would be complete without discussing the sound this car makes. Lexus made it a priority to give the car an emotional sound. They worked with Yamaha’s musical instrument division to develop the acoustic design of the engine. The goal was to create an engine sound that reacts instantly to even the smallest input and to feed that music directly to the driver. To drive a car that sounds better would mean going to something with an open cockpit and sponsor decals all over it.
The car listed here has only traveled about 4,000 miles and is finished in Pearl White. White may seem a bit tame for a car owned by Hilton, but check out that blue and white interior with carbon fiber trim. That’s hot. No matter what color the car is painted, the LFA is no shrinking violet. You could cover it in hearing aid beige, and you would still stand out. If you want to avoid the paparazzi, you may want to look at something else. If you want to outrun the paparazzi though, this is your car. Zero to sixty in the mid-three-second range and a top speed over 200 miles an hour should get you away from prying eyes.
This car is listed at $495,900, which is a nice vacation condo worth of money. However, it is in line with the asking price of similar LFA’s, so the Hilton tax is not very large. It is likely that these cars will only get more expensive as the years so by so you won’t be losing anything should you decide to sell one day. In the meantime, you get to enjoy one of the best supercars ever produced. Perhaps this is a bargain after all.
